Hey there.
Welcome to the WorkLodge Blog.
My First 30 Days at The Lodge - Lauren Battistini
I received this letter today from one of our newest Members (and a Startup), wanting to tell her story of her first 30 days at WorkLodge. So many people ask us what life at the Lodge is like compared to other office space. I’ll let Lauren explain why in her own words!
Taking the plunge from virtual member to officing Lodger at WorkLodge took some faith and a tad of “crazy” if you ask me. After graduating from fashion design school in 2016, I became a virtual member at the Vintage Park location, not only to legitimize my brand (with a physical business address), but also to chat up fellow entrepreneurs on occasion.
Be Bonkers: Core Values Series - Pt. 5
Be Bonkers
A little nutty, a little kooky, we’re not limited by what others think. We fight above our weight and think the impossible might just be possible.
Adjective – bon·kers \ ˈbäŋ-kərz , ˈbȯŋ- \
‘Bonkers’ is an Englishism. It means many different things depending on the context but for the most part, being bonkers means you’re out there, crazy, unique and just maybe a little nuts!
Be Humble: Core Values Series - Pt. 4
Be Humble.
We celebrate our Members and Coworkers, putting their needs ahead of ours recognizing that this will build an incredible Community.
So often today people are ‘out for themselves’, eager to get ahead no matter who they crawl over to get there. At the Lodge, we wanted to build a different kind of business. One where our team and DNA is ‘out for everyone else’!
Celebrating our Members even when their success means it's time to leave the nest.
As soon as I walked in the door and saw the big orange slide I was intrigued! I found myself in the office at the corner of Tokyo Dr. and London Rd. where I decided my business was going to change for the better! As a small businesswoman, I had never signed for office space. I was quite nervous, but my husband encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and just do it!
The Power of Independence
Independence is a powerful motivator. One of the things people often ask me is ‘What made you want to do this?’. It’s a question most entrepreneurs and new business founders are familiar with, but the answer reveals much more than you might realize.
Entrepreneurial Lessons from a Las Vegas Showman - Pt. 1: Self Belief
Believe it or not, you can learn a lot about self-belief in entrepreneurship from Vegas.
Early in my career when I was just getting started, people would occasionally ask how things were going and the answer was always the same; ‘I’m living the dream’. It was obvious to anyone looking that I wasn’t, and it was pure hyperbole for me to suggest otherwise.
However, for budding entrepreneurs and even seasoned business people, the challenge remains to find a way to live our dreams while somehow making them pay. The real winners don’t do it for the money. They do it because of the idea.
